Why I Do This Work

I didn't set out to do this. I found this work because I needed it myself.

Like many of you, I inherited a blueprint for relationships that was drawn by people who didn't know how to love well.

Redrawing it, with people who truly understood, changed my life. RRP gave me something I didn't know I was missing: not just the idea of feeling safe, seen, and understood, but the actual lived experience of it.

I do this work now because I know, from the inside, what it costs to carry the blueprint of a dysfunctional childhood into an adult life. And I know what becomes possible once you don't have to carry it alone.

How Did I Get Here?

I didn't arrive here in a straight line. I’m not sure anyone does.

Before training as an RRP facilitator, I spent six years as a high-acuity nurse at a leading oncology hospital. I didn't realize it then, but that chaos was exactly what my childhood had trained me for — reading every room, sensing what others needed before they said it. Without knowing it, I'd built a career on self-abandonment and hypervigilance.

That instinct came at a cost, and by 2020 my body couldn't be ignored anymore. I left my career and my home in Texas for Switzerland, along with the harder choices that often come with this work — about family, distance, and what I was no longer willing to carry.

I was fortunate to have the resources to rest, travel, and enter intensive psychotherapy. As my body slowly relaxed, a new world opened. I discovered mediation almost by accident, amazed that a whole field existed to make sense of the unsolvable conflicts I grew up in. In 2024, I became a Qualified Mediator and co-founded my practice.

Alongside that, another thread was unfolding. I found RRP by chance, through a YouTube video by Patrick Teahan. Group work felt intimidating, but I sensed individual therapy had taken me as far as it could. In 2023, I joined a group led by Marissa Boyce, and in 2025 I began training as an RRP facilitator myself.
